My history with planning spaces is broad. I’ve beautified areas with murals, reimagined retail areas to make them more welcoming, planted public gardens, and designed film sets. 

For every project I start with one intuitive but critical process - put myself in the shoes of the end user. Why are they here and what do they want to accomplish? Where is their eye naturally drawn? Where do we want them to look? How does light work in the space? What colors will best interact with that light?

I do this early interrogation not with technology, but by simply standing in a space and studying it until I see what belongs there. Next I put pencil to paper and get to work. The payoff comes when people visit the finished space and experience the details imagined exactly with them in mind. One of my greatest joys. ☺️
